MSC Italian Cruises Newest Flagship, MSC Lirica, Arriving for Debut Caribbean Season in 2004

Caribbean Adventures had the opportunity to sail on the new
MSC Lirica while she was completing her Inaugural Season in the Mediterranean in 2003. The
MSC Lirica will be setting sail in December for her Caribbean Inaugural Season beginning
January 15, 2004.
Famed actress Sophia Loren,
who is the Godmother of the Lirica, christened this stunning ship last April when she
returned to her hometown of Naples, Italy for the celebration.
With the brand new MSC Lirica coming to Fort Lauderdales Port Everglades, along with veteran Cruise Director Francesco Cimmino, Americans are in for a real treat. Cimmino is going to offer something special in addition to the regular fare of cruise ship activities the Lirica will be featuring full Italian shows with Opera telling the story of Italians. Speakers and demonstrations on the specialize carving on shells that is so unique in the world. The choice of itineraries includes West Indies and The Bahamas stopping at San Juan in Puerto Rico, Antigua, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Barts, Tortola and Nassau in the Bahamas.
Alternating dates are with Panama Canal and South America stopping in Montego Bay in
Jamaica, Cartagena, Colombia, San Blas Islands, The Panama Canal, Puerto Limon in Costa
Rica and Key West, Florida.
Afterwards, the MSC Lirica heads home on her first east bound Trans Atlantic voyage on
May 15, 2004. Offering the old world charm of a 17 night Trans Atlantic cruise starting at
the affordable rate of $1,195 per person, double occupancy including port charges. MSC
Lirica will call at San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Croix, St. Lucia, and Barbados in the
Caribbean, followed by six days at sea. Funchal, Malaga and Barcelona in the Mediterranean
will complete the Liricas port of calls before she returns to Genoa.
